Shamrock Institute is a nurse owned healthcare company specializing in the unique training needs of individual workers and their employers. We provide 1‑on‑1 training as well as small and large group training classes for individuals, daycares, gyms, schools, healthcare facilities, community centers, scout troops and any business or organization desiring a training program partner.

Our service area includes North Carolina and Wisconsin. We have routine training classes scheduled in Burlington, NC.  Call to request a WI location. We will provide training/s at your location if you have a group of 5 or more.

  • AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CLASSES: 

    CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS)- Adult, Child & Infant with AED and Relief of Choking 

    American Heart Association CPR-BLS is a class designed for healthcare workers but can be taken by anyone interested in learning life saving skills. This course includes CPR for the adult, child and infant as well as Automated External Defibrillator use, bag mask respirations and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. This course is REQUIRED for nurses, doctors, EMT’s and other healthcare industry workers.
    Certification is valid for 2 years.

  • Heartsaver CPR AED

    This class is for anyone seeking certification in CPR and AED use with limited to no medical training. This course includes CPR for the adult, child and infant as well as Automated External Defibrillator use and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. There is no written test for this course.
    Please register for the BLS course if your employer is requiring a CPR certification.

  • Heartsaver CPR AED with First Aid Basics

    This class is for anyone seeking certification in CPR and AED use with limited to no medical training. This course includes CPR for the adult, child and infant as well as Automated External Defibrillator use and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. In addition to CPR and AED instruction this class incorporates First Aid basics. There is no written test for this course.

  • Heartsaver First Aid

    This class teaches how to recognize, treat and call for help when dealing with the most common First Aid emergencies.

  • Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP)

    The American Heart Association Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogen Course is  designed for anyone with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens such as: Correctional Officers, Childcare workers, Security guards, Maintenance workers, School personnel, Hotel housekeepers, Health and fitness club staff, and Tattoo artists.

    The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens course teaches students how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.

  • HeartCode BLS [Skills Only]

    This is AHA’s blended learning course for BLS certification. Students must first complete the on-line portion of the HeartCode BLS Course through the AHA website. Bring your course completion certificate and finish your skills check with a Shamrock Institute Instructor.

  • AMERICAN RED CROSS CLASSES:

    Baby Sitters Training Class

    This class will prepare you to become one of the most sought after and trusted baby sitters in your area. Start your babysitting business off on the right foot and obtain your Red Cross Babysitting certification. This class covers topics of basic child care such as changing diapers and bottle feeding, safety, child behaviors, selecting age-appropriate activities, leadership, tips to starting a babysitting business and more.

  • Red Cross CPR-BLS
    This course includes CPR for the adult, child and infant as well as Automated External Defibrillator use, bag mask respirations and relief of foreign body airway obstruction.

  • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED

    The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age – adults (about 12 years and older) and pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age).Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

  • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid – Blended Skills Eval Only

    This course will prepare you to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session. The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high speed Internet connection. Allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to complete the online portion. Purchase this class through the Red Cross- redcross.org

    Upon successful completion of the on-line portion of the course, you will receive a digital provisional certificate for Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED. Bring this certificate with you for completion of the Skills Only portion of class. After successful completion of skills, you will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

  • Red Cross Bloodborne Pathogen

    Designed for those who are at risk for on the job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids in the workplace. The course teaches staff how bloodborne pathogens are spread, how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed to infectious material. This course is one of the requirements of the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard. After taking this course, students should talk with their employer about their workplaces specific policies and procedures. Those who complete the training receive a Bloodborne Pathogens Training certification valid for one year.

  • NORTH CAROLINA BOARD OF NURSING:

    Medication Aide – Administration of Medications in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
    Medication Aide classes are approved by the NC Board of Nursing. Students who successfully complete these programs are eligible to apply to take the state approved Medication Aide Competency Evaluation (State test fees are additional to the cost of the class and are paid directly to the testing agency).Successful completion of the state exam allows the student to be listed on the registry. A 24 hour class is offered for student wanting to administer medication in a skilled nursing facility (SNF).

  • NORTH CAROLINA DIVISION OF HEALTH SERVICE REGULATION (NCDHHS):

    Medication Aide – Administration of medications in Assisted Living Facilities and Adult Care Homes

    Medication Aide classes are approved by the NC Board of Nursing. Students who successfully complete these programs are eligible to apply to take the state approved Medication Aide Competency Evaluation (State test fees are additional to the cost of the class and are paid directly to the testing agency).Successful completion of the state exam allows the student to be listed on the registry. A 15 hour class is offered for student wanting to administer medication in an Adult Care Home, Group Home or Assisted Living facility (ALF).
